Oil painting showing SS Great Britain after she ran ashore at Dundrum Bay in September 1846, after which she was sold by the Great Western Steam Ship Company. This was the first screw-propelled iron vessel to cross the Atlantic. She was completed in Bristol in 1845 to the plans of Isambard Kingdom Brunel (1806-1859) and provided accommodation for about 360 passengers.

Oil painting showing SS Great Britain after she ran ashore at Dundrum Bay in September 1846, after which she was sold by the Great Western Steam Ship Company.
